Xiaomi 18 Pro may bring new camera surprises with 200MP rear and 100MP selfie sensor

Xiaomi could be preparing additional camera upgrades for the upcoming 18 Pro, and the main rear sensor might not be the only highlight.

Recent leaks suggest the device may push camera specs further than expected. According to information shared on Weibo by Digital Chat Station, a future smartphone with a 6.3-inch display may use two 200MP cameras. The leak is believed to refer to the Xiaomi 18 Pro.

The same source also reports ongoing work on a 100MP front-facing camera. This selfie sensor is still in testing, so there is no guarantee it will appear in the final product.

Given that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra previously ranked at the top in camera performance, expectations for the 18 Pro are already high.

Digital Chat Station adds that the front camera would rely on a custom small-pixel sensor. This approach would be necessary to fit such a high-resolution module into a compact display cutout.
