iPhone 18 Pro Max could receive a major battery capacity upgrade

Apple could significantly improve battery life with the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max, according to a new rumor. If the leak proves accurate, the flagship model may become one of the biggest highlights of Apple's September launch, even alongside the company's first foldable iPhone.

iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacity may increase

Recent reports suggest Apple is preparing a noticeable battery upgrade for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The version equipped with a Nano SIM tray is rumored to feature a 5,235 mAh battery, while the eSIM-only variant could receive an even larger 5,425 mAh cell.

These figures would represent a substantial improvement over the 4,832 mAh battery found in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Nano SIM model could deliver an 8.5% increase in battery capacity, while the eSIM version may offer a 6.6% gain, potentially translating into longer battery life for everyday use.

Leak should be treated with caution

Despite the exciting claims, the source of the information remains questionable. The rumor originated from a now-deleted social media post published by an unknown leaker known as fireuniverse. Although the original post disappeared, several technology publications reported on the claims.

The same leaker also shared a screenshot from a Weibo post showing what are believed to be the batteries for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The image reportedly displays the capacities of both battery variants, while the accompanying post claims that including a Nano SIM slot reduces battery capacity by approximately 190 mAh compared to the eSIM-only model.

As Apple has not confirmed any of these details, the reported battery specifications should be considered speculation until official information becomes available.
