Oppo confirms global launch date for the world’s thinnest foldable

Oppo has officially announced the global launch date for its next-generation foldable, the Find N5-also known as the OnePlus Open 2. The device will make its debut on February 20, both in China and internationally.

Ahead of the event, Oppo has released a teaser video showcasing the phone’s ultra-slim design. The clip also confirms that the device will feature Google’s Gemini AI, likely powering advanced AI-driven functionalities.

At under 4mm when unfolded, the Find N5 is even thinner than the iPad Pro M4 (5.1mm) and nearly as slim as a USB-C port. Despite its incredibly thin profile, it packs a 5900mAh battery, a significant upgrade from the 4800mAh cell in its predecessor. Additionally, it introduces 50W wireless charging, far surpassing the 15W and 7.5W limits of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Under the hood, the foldable is expected to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The camera system will likely include a triple 50 MP setup with a unique telephoto macro lens, while the front cameras will remain 32 MP and 20 MP.
