OnePlus is already working on a new foldable smartphone, but don’t expect too much

While the company has paused its foldable releases for 2025, fresh rumors suggest that OnePlus might return to this segment in 2026. Reliable leaker Max Jambor recently hinted at the brand’s next foldable device, calling it OnePlus Pagani and adding an open hands emoji—a clear reference to a foldable phone.

Another well-known source, Abhishek Yadav, confirmed that Pagani is the internal codename for OnePlus’ upcoming device. However, no details about its specs or design have been shared yet, as the smartphone is still in early development, meaning things could change significantly.

Back in February, OnePlus Open’s Product Manager, Vale Gu, stated that the company was taking a break from foldables but wasn’t exiting the market entirely—just reassessing its strategy.

OnePlus-Open

The lack of a OnePlus foldable leaves a gap in the brand’s lineup, especially since the Oppo Find N5, which could have served as a base for a OnePlus-branded model, is only available in limited markets. If OnePlus paused its foldable release to avoid competing with Oppo, the decision seems questionable. However, if the company is refining its approach to launch a better device next year, then the wait might just be worth it.
